William Hayt, John Buck - Engineering Electromagnetics, 8 edition

First published just over 50 years ago and now in its Eighth Edition, Bill Hayt and John Buck’s Engineering Electromagnetics is a classic text that has been updated for electromagnetics education today. This widely-respected book stresses fundamental concepts and problem solving, and discusses the material in an understandable and readable way. Numerous illustrations and analogies are provided to aid the reader in grasping the difficult concepts. In addition, independent learning is facilitated by the presence of many examples and problems. Important updates and revisions have been included in this edition. One of the most significant is a new chapter on electromagnetic radiation and antennas. This chapter covers the basic principles of radiation, wire antennas, simple arrays, and transmit-receive systems.

David V. Chadderton - Building Services Engineering

Updated and expanded, this core textbook introduces the range of building services found within modern buildings.
In this fifth edition coverage has been broadened as a response to the trend towards low energy mechanical services systems for the heating and cooling of buildings.
New chapters have been included on mechanical transportation and on understanding units. Now accompanied by a new instructor’s resource, it is extensively illustrated with fully worked examples of all numerical problems and student-centred problems, complemented by full answers.
Suitable for distance learning and with a broad international applicability, Building Services Engineering provides for the higher education of building industry professionals, whether on higher certificate, higher diploma, undergraduate courses or graduate level conversion courses, across the building technology, architectural, surveying and services engineering disciplines.

Valery Vodovozov - Introduction to Electronic Engineering - free download

This work introduces a reader to the basics of electronic engineering. The book is recommended for those who study electronics. Here, students may get their first knowledge of electronic concepts and basic components. Emphasis is on the devices used in day-to-day consumer electronic products. Therefore, semiconductor components diodes, transistors, and thyristors are discussed in the first step. Next, the most common electronic circuits, such as analogue, differential and operation amplifiers, suppliers and references, filters, math converters, pulsers, logical gates, etc. are covered.

John Bird - Engineering Mathematics (4th Edition) - free download

Engineering Mathematics is a comprehensive textbook for vocational courses and foundation modules at degree level. John Bird's approach, based on numerous worked examples supported by problems, is ideal for students of a wide range of abilities, and can be worked through at the student's own pace. Theory is kept to a minimum, placing a firm emphasis on problem-solving skills, and making this a thoroughly practical introduction to the core mathematics needed for engineering studies and practice.
The book presents a logical topic progression, rather than following the structure of a particular syllabus. However, coverage has been carefully matched to the two mathematics units within the new BTEC National specifications, and AVCE specifications. New sections on Boolean algebra, logic circuits matrices and determinants have been added to ensure full syllabus match.
Includes: 900 worked examples, 1700 further problems, 234 multiple choice questions (answers provided), and 16 assessment papers - ideal for use as tests or homework. These are the only problems where answers are not provided in the book. Full worked solutions are available to lecturers only as a free download from http://textbooks.elsevier.com
* A complete foundation mathematics course for engineering students
* Student-friendly learn-through-examples method appeals to engineers
* Includes 850 worked examples, 1500 problems (answers provided), 200 multiple choice questions, and 15 assessment papers

Leo Lue - Chemical Thermodynamics - free download

This study guide deals with the application of thermodynamics to the description of the properties of materials. It covers the qualitative behavior of single and multicomponent mixtures, including vapor-liquid, liquid-liquid, and solid-liquid phase equilibria. It also explains the use of activity coefficient models and equations of state for the quantitative prediction of phase behavior and chemical reaction equilibria. The guide assumes a prior basic understanding of first and second laws of thermodynamics and multivariate calculus.

Miltiadis A. Boboulos - Automation and Robotics - free download

In this book for the optimisation of assembly conveyor lines we are dealing with series part production featured by a medium complexity degree and a medium number of individual components and assembly technique alternatives. Modern production techniques for medium to large series products or mass production usually involve assembly conveyor lines. The aim is to have monotonous and similar in type operations or such causing fatigue, stress and production traumas, gradually replaced by automated assembly cycles, means and techniques. Assembly alternatives involving automation, and mechanisation, programmable and adaptive control have been in addition analyzed.

Meinhard T. Schobeiri - Fluid Mechanics for Engineers

The contents of this book covers the material required in the Fluid Mechanics Graduate Core Course (MEEN-621) and in Advanced Fluid Mechanics, a Ph.D-level elective course (MEEN-622), both of which I have been teaching at Texas A&M University for the past two decades. While there are numerous undergraduate fluid mechanics texts on the market for engineering students and instructors to choose from, there are only limited texts that comprehensively address the particular needs of graduate engineering fluid mechanics courses. To complement the lecture materials, the instructors more often recommend several texts, each of which treats special topics of fluid mechanics.
This circumstance and the need to have a textbook that covers the materials needed in the above courses gave the impetus to provide the graduate engineering community with a coherent textbook that comprehensively addresses their needs for an advanced fluid mechanics text. Although this text book is primarily aimed at mechanical engineering students, it is equally suitable for aerospace engineering, civil engineering, other engineering disciplines, and especially those practicing professionals who perform CFD-simulation on a routine basis and would like to know more about the underlying physics of the commercial codes they use. Furthermore, it is suitable for self study, provided that the reader has a sufficient knowledge of calculus and differential equations.
